Friday Feature - Blog Hop!

Hello everyone and welcome to the AnnaBelle Friday Feature Blog Hop!  We are very excited tonight to be sharing two brand new sets that we have been featuring over the last 4 weeks with little sneak peeks, so here they are!

Our new sets were designed to match each other, but of course that background could be used anywhere!

Wedding Medallion

This set of 18 images and sentiments includes a large medallion that is approximately 9cm in diameter as well as gorgeous sentiments perfect for the couple in love!  We've teamed it with the background below!

BBD9 - Elegance

This huge background stamp measures nearly 13.5cm x 15cm so will be perfect for the Australian sized C6 card as well as large 13cm square cards!  Yum!

Clearance News

I've spent some time this week transferring all sets that will be discontinued once they have sold out across to the Clearance section.  They have now all been reduced by between 10% - 40% with some original  clearance items at 70% off!  No discount coupon code is needed as I have changed all the sets prices :)

Friday Feature - All New Sets!

Hello to you all and welcome back to our regular Friday Feature!  This year we are going to spin it around a little and offer the same set for an entire month as our Friday Feature set, this way you get to see a sets versatility over a longer period!  So what better way than to start sharing with you samples using two new sets to be released at the end of the month!  Now I'm only showing you a little sneak peek of the set, we can't be giving it all away just yet :)

Let's start with Tobi and this gorgeous card using one of the main medallions!

And then after 3 months I nervously come back with just a hint of the background stamp..

There you have it, and next week we have another two of the Belles showcasing the same two sets until the release on the 31st of January!

Topical Tuesday: Masking

Happy New Year everyone, it's Marcia here and today I am going to share a project I made using the masking technique.

Whenever I think of masking, I go back to when I was learning to make cards and it was often the backgrounds of my images that were created using masking. You know, mask out the person and then stamp a background image of fence, some grass and plants. Today's project shows masking inside the image as well as creating a somewhat different kind of background.

I've used the little lady from the stamp set Lil Molly's Flowers as my main image in this card. I have also used a couple of BBD stamp sets as well.

Now for masking, you will need a mask - there are plenty of masking papers and sticky sheets on the market, but for me I use plain Post It notes.

Stamp your image onto some blending cardstock as well as a pile of Post It notes

With one of the post it notes, cut out Molly's dress only and place the mask onto your stamped cardstock.

Using the mottled spot stamp from BBD5, stamp the dots over the dress.

Remove the mask and cover Molly with another Post It, masking her out completely. Using the text background from BBD6, mask a background as shown below

Using Copics, I have coloured Molly in to match my printed papers - I've also outlined the coloured image in some warm greys to create some shadowing behind her.

Trim your image down and add it to a card. Here's the finished product ... which secretly is going to my little lady who turns 12 on Thursday.

Masking is a great way to add details to a stamped image, to create different and interesting backgrounds and to add elements where you otherwise might not be able to. It can be a bit fiddly but the time taken can produce some great results.
