Topical Tuesday 070 Covered Notebook
Hi Guys,
It's Kylie here with another project for Topical Tuesday!
I LOVE making and decorating little notebooks(I think you might gather that by now roflol)and I give them to everyone in their Birthday and Christmas gifts, they are sooooooooooo easy to create and decorate so I thought I'll share with you how I cover a very cheap little memo book that I purchased from my local newsagent for the grand total of 52 cents lol!
~To start off, I printed off a piece of ABS Digi Paper(A4)in Chilli Dots(love this one, it's my favourite lol)onto ABS Smooth White cardstock
~I then opened my little notebook on my cardstock and I lightly traced an outline of my notebook and then I measured from my trace lines a 2cm border right round to cut off my excess cardstock. My cardstock when cut measures 18.6 X 24.9cm
~I then applied double side tape to the front and back covers of my little notebook and adhered it to my cardstock
~I then snipped the four corners off at an angle and then I snipped up to the spine of my notebook in a 'V' shape as these made my flaps to fold in and adhere.
~I also ran my bone folder around my notebook to make crease lines as this will make it easier to fold up the cardstock tabs and then I applied double sided tape around the edges
~Then I folder in my flaps and adhere them to my inside cover
~You can keep your notebook as is if you want it simple but I'm going to use some ribbon to make a closure and then using some Black cardstock I will cover the front and back inside covers and cover the ribbon mess lol!
~I took two pieces of ribbon approx. 30cm long for the front and back covers and I adhered them in the middle of the front and back covers using double sided tape(Don't worry the ribbon on the inside will be covered with the black cardstock lol)
~The I have used two pieces of Black cardstock measuring 10 X 14cm to cover the inside front and back covers
~Now it's the fun part...Decorating the cover!
~I have used ABS 'Standing Tall' Stamp Set for my floral image and 'Garden Silhouettes' Stamp Set for my sentiment!
~I used some circle Spellbinders dies and cut out a Black scallop circle and a White Circle, stamped my floral image using some Black Memento Ink, adhered that to my Black scallop circle and adhered this to my note book.
~I finished off by placing a gorgeous 6mm Chilli Heart Sprinkle on the large flower and then I used three 6mm Chilli sprinkles on the other flowers and place a Black twine bow on one of the flower stems and I stamped my sentiment 'Just a Note'(my all time favourite sentiment...Ever lol)and punched it out using a tag punch and placed it on my notebook using a cute little mini Black clothes peg!
~Here's my finished notepad/memo book:
~Here's a pic of the inside of my notebook:
Supplies Used:
AnnaBelle Stamps: 'Standing Tall' and 'Garden Silhouettes' Stamp Sets, ABS Digi Papers, ABS Smooth White Cardstock, Black Twine, White Satin Ribbon, 6mm Chilli Heart Sprinkle, 6mm Chilli Sprinkles
Other: Black Cardstock, Spellbinders Dies, Tag Punch, Black Ink, Mini Black Peg, Memo Book
So that's my covered notebook! Super easy to cover, super cute to receive lol and super cheap to make!
I hope you give covering a notebook a go? Once you start you'll be hooked lol! If you give it a try don't forget to upload to the AnnaBelle Stamps Ning Site, 'Stamp Embellish Create' and using tag tt070 so I can find all your Fabulous notebooks!
If you have any questions or you don't understand my ramblings, just yell out!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hugs,
Kylie X
