Topical Tuesday #50 - Working With Inktense Pencils

Hi all and welcome back for this weeks Topical Tuesday!  This week it's my turn so I thought what a great opportunity to show you how easy it is to create the vibrant background to the card I made for our release blog hop using Inktense pencils.  I love working with these pencils!  They are so vibrant and rich and because they are permanent once dry you work and build on the colour without effecting whats underneath!

Unfortunately with the video the lamp I used to brighten my work area left the videoed result a little washed out, but I hope you can still get the idea on how I made this card!  You simply can't go wrong with these pencils and the more you play with them the more you become addicted to them!

Thanks for stopping by and watching!

Hugs for now,

Andrea

    1. Hi Doreen,
I did have them in the old store as a pre-order item, and if I had a few people from Australia wanting them then I'd be happy to order them in :) Email me if you'd like some prices.

  3. Yes, HEAPS of practice needed for me..and patience to let the colors DRY in between layers or they get muddy!

  4. Thank you for the tutorial. I loved the cards with the Inktense Pencils and googled to find the closest stockist. Unfortunately, it is not handy to me but is to my brother's place so I guess he'll be getting a visit from me soon! The tutorial has helped heaps - not sure I could colour that good but practice makes perfect so I can only improve.

  5. Gorgeous card. Your colors are awesome. Where do we find these pencils. I have SU watercolor pencils. How different are these from yours?

    1. These water soluble pencils are made from ink pigments and become permanent once dry. With your average watercolour pencils even when dry if you go over again with water you can alter what has been previously done. Both are types are great for different things :)

  6. Andrea introduced me to these pencils and I couldn't image being without them now. I use all the time.
Andrea what was it you coated the picture with at the end - I think you said mod podge and if so what type is best and why did you use it. I went and looked in the shops and saw a whole lot of different ones. I got totally confused. Could be a good one for the Community site. Love the colours you chose, cant wait to attempt too.
