Hello this Friday! It's time to announce our fortnightly challenge favourite, and we had some gorgeous entries, and we hope you can play along with us again this evening!
It's once again my turn to share with you and I'm sharing how I mix and match digital images and stamps. I use Photoshop Elements 6 when I play with digis but this would work just as well in a word document.
So lets start. You might want to click on each to get a closer view of the screen shots.
In Elements I open a NEW blank file. I name the file and use my card dimensions in inches for the size. (I like to use 4.25" x 5.5" so I trim down if need be) I also like to make sure the bottom box shows that the NEW file will be Transparent. This gives you a first layer.
This gives you the first layer.
Now I OPEN a digital image. The image will open in a full page but if you click in the corner you can make this page small enough to sit at the top of the screen so you can see it and Layer 1. The digital image will now be showing in the column on the right of your screen so click on it and pull it onto your first layer. Drag this to the position you want it and resize it by using the corner boxes.
I wanted 3 images running down the right side of my card so added the 3 and manipulated them, turning the top and bottom one slightly.
Here's how my 3 images look so far.
I wanted to make the images lighter for my card so I changed the Opacity on each image by clicking on it then going over to the tabs on the right of the screen can you see Opacity....OK just move the slider to make the image lighter.
Now the Opacity is sorted out (I took mine down to 50%) you should have 4 layers showing in the column on the right. Now it's time to merge them down into 1. Only do this when you're happy with how everything looks. The screenshot above shows LAYER : MERGE VISIBLE.
Now to print off your one layer card front. Click PRINT which brings up a screen like this with your file in the centre of the screen. To move it just un tick the box that says CENTRE IMAGE then you can move it to where you want it to print.
In my case to the top left hand side of the A4 sheet but if you wanted to print this directly to your card front you could do that too. If you were making multiples, you could print out two side by side.
Check before you Print.....and PRINT
Here's the finished card using AnnaBelle Stamps Designer Flowers with papers from the Classic Cherry Digital Collection in Apricot.
Here's another card using both digital and stamped images.

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week I'm back with more water and paints and colouring! A couple of weeks ago I started to clean my office and tidy my very large collection of cards I have made. Many I have given to charity or the school fete because I simply don't know what else to do with them! Then I thought what about an art journal....it would mean I could still colour without adding to my card collection...so I set out to find a journal and start one (you'll see which ones I bought on my personal blog and find a giveaway as well!).
I started with some acrylic paints and covered the entire page. In the centre I adhered a torn piece of newspaper then applied a thin coat of gesso before stamping my image from the Squared Posies set.
Check the video out below for all the details, and I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have :)
Hi all!! Aren't they yummy colours this week?!? I hope you like them as well and will love creating with them (or as close to them as you can get lol!).
Thanks to our very special Guest Designer Janet who has been amazing to work with! Sorry for the late post of your card, my mind just isn't in gear, but it is beautiful!!
Our team is down to just the 5 of us for the time being, and I have been unwell for the past week so today I simply had to catch up on the house and have no card to share just yet, but we hope you'll enjoy :)

Good afternoon all! It's time to announce our sketch favourite for our last challenge! We had 21 amazing entries which we thank you so much for, we love coming for a visit!
Welcome to our Topical Tuesday! This week and next week I'm afraid you'll be seeing me again as we do a bit of catch up with the Belle DT changes happening at the moment, so I hope you won't be bored, I do tend to do something with pencils!
This week I'm calling our TT a 'Mixed Media Card'. Now I'll be honest here, I don't actually know what mixed media exactly stands for, but to me it sounds like when you use lots of different things to colour, and different mediums to add texture or highlight, so with that I made this card. When I started, apart from the three panels and the first 3 colours of pencil I didn't know what I was going to do, I even had a different stamp out to use :)
The card is for a friends Mum who's birthday it is today, and I said to my friend - vibrant or pastel? Well she chose vibrant, I hope she isn't too shocked with what she'll be getting lol! Don't worry I'm not really late with the card, my friend won't be seeing her Mum until Friday, phew!
I have a video below but I will detail the colours I've used just in case you'd like to know, and hopefully in sequence :)
Inks : Versafine, DI Pine Needles, Memento Lilac Posies
This is a close up of the centre panel, it gives you a bit more of an idea of the texture gesso and using brushes gives, oh and fingers! They are great to blend both the Gelatos and Big Brush Pens with! (They were a Christmas gift from DH! I don't have many colours but would love some more lol!) You'll see or the imperfections, but that was half the fun! Well most of the fun really!
Now on to the video.
I would love for you to share some of your 'mixed media' work! Stop by our ning house - Stamp Embellish Create - and sign up to be a member, then you can share with everyone! Simply add the this weeks tag - tt056 - to make it easy for everyone to find!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this week's TT! I'll try to think of something other than pencils and water for next week but would love some suggestions so throw them at me!
Welcome everyone to our Friday Feature! This week we are taking another look at our new Easter sets and the Belles have some great ideas on how to use them!
